Health Systems Strengthening
Since its inception, MJAP has engaged in health systems strengthening approaches as a core principle of its programming.
To support health system strengthening, MJAP has:
• built the capacity of key stakeholders including health facility leadership to progressively have a greater role in the overall district/ facility annual and periodic planning, service delivery, monitoring, and performance evaluation.
• supported the decentralization of laboratory services to the lowest level health facilities; access to quality laboratory services for HIV, viral load and GeneXpert testing; improved availability of HIV related commodities in health facilities: and improved timely and quality reporting by all facilities;
• In facilities with critical human resource gaps, supported the health facilities to recruit staff to fill critical gaps for service delivery with a progressive transition to the public sector consistent with PEPFAR-GOU human resources for health agreements
