Moses R. Kamya, M.B.Ch.B, M.Med, MPH, PhD. is a Professor of Medicine and Dean of the School of Medicine at Makerere University College of Health Sciences and Mulago Hospital in Uganda. He has major interests in HIV and malaria. He has been conducting Infectious Disease research at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda for over 20 years

Dr. Stephen Watiti was born on the 11th of May 1953 in Mbale, Uganda, went to Nabumali high School from 1972-1978 before joining Makerere University in 1979 to study medicine. From 1984-1988, Dr. Watiti worked a medical officer at Rubaga Hospital Kampala before moving into private medical practice from 1988-2004. From 2004- 2013, he worked at Mildmay Uganda before going into consultancy work; focusing on HIV and AIDS. Stephen thinks he got infected with HIV in 1986 and since 2000 he has been on ARVs. He believes that HIV; though incurable is manageable with the advent of ART; if it is accompanied by good psychosocial support. He writes a weekly column in The New Vision; Uganda’s leading daily titled: “Towards Zero” and has published two books:“HIV and AIDS: 100 Commonly asked questions”, and “Conquering HIV and AIDS: My personal experience of living with HIV”.

Dr. Umar Kakumba,is Associate Professor & Dean at Makerere University, School of Business, College of Business & Management Sciences,He is an alumnus of the prestigious Wolfson College and Centre of Development Studies of the University of Cambridge, UK, where he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellow in 2014. He holds a PhD in Public Affairs–Management(University of Pretoria); Masters in Public Administration & Management; a BA (Social Sciences) from Makerere University; and a Diploma in Business Administration

Naome Kiconco Ochieng is an advocate of the High Court with over 10 years’ experience as an in-house legal counsel at Makerere University.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Uganda Christian University (UCU), a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center (LDC) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management from the Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
She is passionate about corporate governance, equity and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
She is currently posted to the office of the University Secretary where she closely works with the University Council

Dr. Harriet Birabwa-Oketcho is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Butabika National Psychiatric Referral Hospital with over 18 years’ experience in offering clinical care to patients with mental illness including HIV related psychiatric problems. She holds a PGD in Hospital and Healthcare Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship attained at the East London NHS Foundation Trust and both a master’s degree in psychiatry and a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Makerere University. Prior to her appointment on the MJAP board she was the Acting Head of the Clinical department in Butabika Hospital.
