Mortuary staff and surveillance teams prepare for hands-on practical sessions in Mortality Surveillance at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Mortuary staff and surveillance teams prepare for hands-on practical sessions in Mortality Surveillance at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary. The training, led by the Ministry of Health and supported by MJAP through the LPHS-EC Project, aims to strengthen mortality surveillance systems and enhance the capacity of health workers to detect, report, and respond to public health threats. As part of ongoing efforts to improve regional preparedness, this training contributes to building a robust surveillance system capable of supporting early detection and response to disease outbreaks, including potential Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) occurrences in the Eastern Central (EC) region. Through practical sessions and skills development, participants are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to support timely mortality reporting, investigation, and public health action.
