𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐨𝐠𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐅𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Today, Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP), together with other health sector partners, is participating in the Busoga Regional Annual Joint Review Mission (JRM) taking place at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja.
The two-day review brings together District Political and Technical Leadership, District Health Officers, health facility representatives, Ministry of Health, development partners, civil society organisations, religious and cultural leaders, and other key stakeholders from across the Busoga sub-region.
The meeting provides a platform to:
🔹 Review health sector performance and key indicators for FY 2025/2026;
🔹 Assess progress on previous JRM recommendations;
🔹 Identify health system bottlenecks and agree on practical solutions;
🔹 Share experiences from best- and least-performing local governments;
🔹 Strengthen coordination among health sector stakeholders; and
🔹 Align regional priorities for improved health service delivery.
The review underscores the importance of collective action, accountability and stronger partnerships in strengthening health systems and improving health outcomes across the 11 districts and Jinja City that make up the greater Busoga sub-region.
As part of MJAP’s continued commitment to strengthening health systems and improving disease prevention and care across the region, Dr. Paul Lwevola, Director of Technical Services, will on the second day make a presentation on MJAP’s programming and implementation progress in the Busoga region.
The presentation will provide an opportunity to share MJAP’s contribution to the regional health agenda, highlight key achievements and lessons learned, and strengthen collaboration with district leadership, the Ministry of Health and other partners.
