Dr. Birabwa-Oketcho (MB.Ch.B, MMed(Psy), PostGradDip, DHOS) is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist and Head of the Clinical Department at Butabika National Psychiatric Referral Hospital with over 18 years’ experience in offering clinical care to patients with mental illness including HIV related psychiatric problems.

She holds a PGD in Hospital and Healthcare Management from Uganda Management Institute, a Commonwealth Professional Fellowship attained at the East London NHS Foundation Trust and both a master’s degree in psychiatry and a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Makerere University.

Dr. Birabwa-Oketcho’s interests include Mental Health, Psychology, Stress and Caregivers as well as Religion/Spirituality.
