LEAP Team Field Monitoring Visit to LPHS-EC Region

Today, the Long-term Exceptional Technical Assistance Project (LEAP Global) team conducted a field briefing meeting with the LPHS-EC technical team.

In his remarks, the Executive Director, Dr. Fred Semitala, noted that the monitoring visit is of great value and would serve as an opportunity for:

  • Shared learning
  • Shared reflection
  • Strengthening accountability for resources received from the Department of State

“Such engagements continue to enhance performance, learning, and the effective use of resources across the programme,” he noted.

The LEAP team further highlighted that the new America First Strategy places strong emphasis on sustainability. They underscored a strategic shift toward greater adoption of Ministry of Health reporting systems, the need to strengthen adaptive implementation approaches, expansion into an extended programme portfolio, and deeper collaboration with district-level structures to ensure long-term impact.

On behalf of the U.S. Department of State, the LEAP team provides valuable insights and technical assistance to different Department of State-funded projects.

Sites to be visited by the team.
