Dr. Semitala is the Executive Director and Secretary to the Board. He trained as a physician at Makerere University and trained in evidence-Based Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium.

He has a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley, USA and postgraduate training in implementation Science from the University of California San Francisco.

Dr. Semitala has over 20 years of experience in HIV-care and training and over 14 years of HIV programming & research.

He oversees the largest HIV clinic and Centre of Excellence in Uganda. His research interests are in implementation research and capacity building for an improved HIV care cascade, HIV associated TB and integration of other co-morbid conditions into HIV care.
