SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

The MJAP Senior Management team handles the administrative, management, reporting and resource mobilization for the program. It is comprised of:

Dr. Fred C. Semitala (MBChB, M.Med, MPH) is also the Head of Research at MJAP. He trained as a physician at Makerere University, Evidence-Based Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium 2008 and obtained MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California Berkeley, USA. He has 15 years of experience in HIV-care and training and has over eight years of experience in HIV programming & research. His research interests are in implementation aspects of the HIV care cascade, diagnosis, and care for HIV associated TB.

Dr. Martin Muddu

Care & Treatment Advisor

Dr. Martin Muddu holds both a master’s degree in Internal Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from Makerere University. He has additional training in Implementation Science from the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Muddu has over 10 years of experience in HIV, TB and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) clinical and program management. He has special skills and experience in HIV, TB and NCDs care and treatment, a program section he has led for 4 years at MJAP. Before joining MJAP, Dr. Muddu worked as Regional Medical Director at AIDS Healthcare Foundation-Uganda Cares in the Eastern and North Eastern regions as well as Care and Treatment Consultant at USAID’s Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East-Central Uganda (RHITES-EC).  He seeks to advance his career through supporting programming, research and clinical services of HIV and co-morbidities. Dr. Muddu’s research focuses on NCDs/HIV implementation science.

 

Anne Lee Nakaweesi

Anne Lee Nakaweesi

Human Resources Manager

Anne has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and Administration both in government and non-government sectors. She has built her career through developing, reviewing and implementing comprehensive HR systems, policies and strategies. She was instrumental in setting up the HR department at Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) and sourcing for a multi-skilled talented team to drive coordination of the HIV/AIDS national response, during the early stages of the epidemic.
